2005 Gala Fundraiser a Huge Success
On April 26, Curtis Farrar, a Douglas attorney, hosted the first annual gala spring fundraiser and membership drive for Satilla RIVERKEEPER®.
The event was held at the historic Satilla River Club off the Old River Road south of Atkinson in Brantley County, where Curtis is a member.
A theme of "From Coffee to Camden" emerged as we realized that the over 150 guests came from all over the watershed, gathered to support
the common cause.

Saving the Satilla: The Initial Spark
A lot of folks wonder "how are things with the mine?" or "what is Save Our Satilla (SOS)?" or "are SOS and Satilla
RIVERKEEPER® the same
thing, or two different things?" or all of the above.
Well, guess what, it's all interconnected, it has been quite a ride, and there is no simple way to tell the story.
So here is an attempt to tell the story, hopefully, thereby answering all of the above questions, and let you know what is going on
yet today.
