To protect, restore and educate about the beautiful and ecologically important Satilla River.
Our hope is for a Satilla River, its tributaries, and its terrestrial watershed that support healthy fisheries, safe swimming, diverse wildlife populations, superb recreational opportunities, a stable water supply, and sustainable human economic activity throughout the basin.
Integrity and Credibility: We make decisions based on scientific knowledge and factual evidence. We shall not act or fail to act in a way that (even appears to) compromise our reputation.
Environmentally Conscious: In our everyday operations, we strive to minimize our environmental impact (i.e. conserve water & energy, reduce waste, etc.).
Business Sustainability: We operate a well-run nonprofit organization. We are responsible with funds, and maintain quality administration, management and oversight practices.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Success in our mission is dependent on welcoming and including all communities in the watershed in the effort to protect our environment. Our programs, advocacy, and operations are enhanced by a diversity of ideas and life experiences. We celebrate and respect differences in thought, culture, personal characteristics, socioeconomics, and lifestyle choices. We strive to achieve equitable outcomes for the communities impacted by environmental issues in our watershed.
Collaboration: We develop meaningful partnerships with local governments, other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), industry, state and federal agencies, and others to integrate and leverage our strengths to address challenges and expand our impacts.
Innovation and Motivation: We support a culture that rewards creativity, embraces and drives change, and challenges the status quo where appropriate. We are nimble and responsive in a constantly changing environment. We strive to deliver our best in all endeavors, and we hold ourselves, our partners, and our opponents accountable for results.

How We Get There
The operation of a strong Satilla Riverkeeper organization, conducting and networking efforts to educate, inform, enforce, research, and litigate on issues in the Satilla River basin can meet these goals. It took many years to drive the Satilla into the condition she is in. There are many well-financed, quite vested interests who have stake in continuing to drive the Satilla toward being simply a waste-treatment and elimination system. It will take a lot of time and money to turn things around and get her back to where she deserves to be. You can and should become a part of this effort. We have started the ball rolling. Join NOW and help us get up an unstoppable head of steam. Contact us directly for the details on how you can help in many ways other than simple cash donations. We can't wait to work with you!
